We are excited to welcome Tristan Wakefield back on camp staff, this year as Head Counselor! Tristan was a camper for six years and on staff for four before stepping into this leadership role. We asked Tristan to share his favorite parts of camp and his response did not disappoint!
There are so many camp memories and activities that I hold near and dear to my heart and I look forward to these every year. But, if I had to put together a top 5 list, these would be on it
1. To start of the list I put when I first get to camp on the very first day and like many others this was the first time seeing all of my camp friends who I had not seen since camp the year prior.
2. Playing in the playoffs at the end of the week is my second pick. It’s always fun when your team gets to show how hard everyone worked during the week and it’s always super competitive
3. The one is not a meaningful but I do always appreciate going to the camp store at the start of free time to get a diet pop and a beef stick. It always helps to get a little extra snack before going to whatever activity I was doing during free time
4. All of the free time activities. It’s too difficult to pick just one. There’s always a range of activities which the directors of fun set up, one of which being the volleyball tournament. These give campers plenty to do during this time.
5. Pass the Ball is the last one on my list but definitely not the least. On the last night of camp, everyone has opportunity to share anything they would like. It is an open platform for anyone to talk that I have taken advantage of
