Safe Sitting - Diabetes Babysitting Service- is a nationwide diabetes babysitting service that helps families who have a child with type 1 diabetes find babysitters in their area who also have type 1 diabetes.

This service was founded 4 years ago  by Kimberly Ross when she was 17.  Kimberly was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes when she was 11. She realized that her experience managing her own diabetes could be helpful in taking care of children who also have type 1 diabetes. With the help of her school nurse she launched a babysitting service in the NY metropolitan area. It  was written up in the Wall Street Journal and there were so many responses from around the country that Kimberly expanded Safesittings.com into a national on-line service.

This is a not for profit organization and no fees are charged for the services of Safesittings.com. Once a family decides to hire a babysitter the amount to be paid for babysitting is mutually agreed upon. Find out more info.
